Solving the cashflow planning puzzle (in more ways than one) at EATT2024

The EV team had an incredible day at the 5th annual Empowering Advice Through Technology (EATT) conference, a one-day event for advice firms seeking to integrate technology into their advice processes and businesses.

The event was designed to help firms understand the factors they should consider when selecting technology and to help them figure out whether they had the right technology for their businesses.

Various challenges were presented throughout the day, including making the advice process more efficient and saving time to reduce compliance and administrative burdens. Another area of focus was helping clients avoid foreseeable harm, a concept introduced as part of the FCA’s Consumer Duty legislation.

Stress testing client plans in a matter of seconds.

During the event, Group Innovation Director Andrew Storey participated in a live 8-minute "disruptive demo." He showcased the efficiency and power of EVPro, which features the only stress tester in the market capable of running 10,000 scenarios simultaneously in 2-3 seconds with the click of a button. Doing so ensures clients' cashflow plans have the best possible success. It was reported that some advisers can take up to an hour or even more.

Speaking after his demo, Andrew commented:

“As a financial adviser, it’s critical to have steps to evidence your cash flow planning stress tests. This ensures a clear audit trail for the regulator. Still, more importantly, it ensures your clients' financial plans remain on track even in unforeseen circumstances. This has been recognised by BareRock, a new PI insurer, who have included this stress test as one of only a few tech solutions to reducing risk in an advisory business and reducing the PI insurance with it.”

Teamwork leads to better outcomes

Jenny Burt, Pasquale Manganella, and Rachel Edwards from the EV team joined Andrew at the event. They provided valuable insights into the workings of EVPro, which helped to illustrate its benefits and emphasise its role as a key tool for unlocking a better financial planning experience. This was also an excellent opportunity for Rachel to get hands-on with her first EV event.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet us at our stand, where they could see demos, take part in games, and even win giveaways. The highlight of the event (other than Andrew’s disruptor demo and actuarial jokes, of course) was the chance to win a special prize by solving a cube, which added an element of fun and excitement to the serious business of financial planning.

Our presence at EATT2024 demonstrated our commitment to supplying innovative adviser tech. The power of EVPro and our ability to deliver innovative customer-centric solutions promises a bright future for financial planning.
